An exhibition-fair of domestic producers for entrepreneurs has opened in Vitebsk

A wholesale fair of Vitebsk producers for individual entrepreneurs has started in the regional center, Valentin Tsvetkov, head of the entrepreneurship development and consumer market department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's economy committee, told a BELTA correspondent. The unusual fair is held at the Polotsk market on Mondays - the day when private traders make wholesale purchases and the market is closed to regular customers. The new form of work is designed to stimulate the interest of private business in goods from domestic producers. As Valentin Tsvetkov noted, individual entrepreneurs can familiarize themselves with the product range and sales conditions on the spot. In turn, enterprises are also looking for forms of cooperation convenient for small businesses. For example, the Vitebsk Fruit and Vegetable Combine offers its canned goods to entrepreneurs with a deferred payment of 30 days. The combine can also assist with product delivery to retail outlets. However, most producers still sell their products to private businesses with full prepayment. Along with Vitebsk enterprises, producers from Shumilino district and Orsha are participating in the fair. The need for such an exhibition was noted not only by state-owned enterprises but also by private ones, Valentin Tsvetkov observed. According to the economy committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as of September 1, there were products worth Br559.5 billion in the region's enterprises' warehouses.
