An exhibition of the results of the international plein air opened in Polotsk, the cultural capital of Belarus in 2010
August 12, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. An exhibition showcasing the results of the I International Plein Air "ART-EGO" opened today in Polotsk, the cultural capital of Belarus in 2010, the head of the art gallery of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Larisa Lysenko told a BELTA correspondent.
The exhibition features 60 works. These are paintings, collages, art objects, and sculptural compositions created by artists from Belarus, Latvia, and Lithuania during the two-week plein air, dedicated to Polotsk as a cultural center on the "Varangians to the Greeks" route. Impressions from getting acquainted with the ancient city, its architecture, historical and cultural heritage, and people became a true source of inspiration for the participants and allowed them to create vivid, lively, and profound works, the interlocutor noted, adding that one-third of them will be donated to Polotsk by the authors.
The organizers of the plein air were the Belarusian Union of Artists, the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Polotsk City Executive Committee, and the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
The exhibition will run until September 3. -0-
