Moving to a single exchange rate stimulates producers to develop exports
September 16, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The move to a single exchange rate stimulates producers to develop exports. This opinion was expressed today to a BELTA correspondent by Leonid Petrov, Director of Technolit-Polotsk OJSC.
He believes that in the current conditions, only an enterprise that is seriously engaged in export policy will be able to stand firm. Otherwise, it will be devoured by other competing producers. "In turn, to export products, it is also necessary to be actively involved in the continuous work on improving its quality and competitiveness. As a result, a chain of these components will become a catalyst for the development of the country's economy as a whole," emphasized Leonid Petrov.
To confirm his words, the director cited the work of the Polotsk enterprise. Thus, by the end of the year, Technolit-Polotsk is to manufacture a monument to the Heroes of the War of 1812 for the Smolensk region, worth 1 million euros. The project is financed from the budget of the Union State. The plant's contacts with other foreign partners are also actively developing, and new ones are being sought.
The current situation will force everyone to work, as currency earnings are necessary for every serious producer, the head is convinced. For example, Technolit-Polotsk is currently fulfilling a large order for the production of automated milking parlors, which require imported components for their production. "The best option for acquiring them is to buy them with the enterprise's own currency, and for that, it must first be earned," stated the director.
In January-August, the enterprise produced products worth Br20 billion, or 170% compared to the same period last year. Exports during this period increased by 12% to $1 million; by the end of the year, export growth is expected to be around 150%. The energy saving indicator is minus 10.3%. Investments in fixed assets reached Br841 million.
The enterprise was founded in 1927. It specializes in the production of gray cast iron products and metalworking products, as well as automated milking parlors. The average number of employees is about 390 people.-0-
