Visitors to the agro-ecotourism estate owners' gathering will be offered a chance to view Polotsk from a hot air balloon

Representatives of about 30 estates will meet to share their ideas for developing rural tourism, present their accumulated experience in participating in European programs and competitions promoting the development of agro-ecotourism in the region. Polotsk district will demonstrate its new tourist products at the event.

"Initially, participants will find themselves on the picturesque bank of the Western Dvina among the residents of medieval Polotsk and will welcome foreign merchants arriving on a drakkar (Viking ship). It will be possible to see the "Circle of Odin", an early medieval tournament, and congratulate its winners. 12 handmade carved wooden figures, symbolizing the zodiac signs, will greet the participants of the gathering on the territory of one of the agro-ecotourism estates in Polotsk district. And at the end of the event, those who wish will be able to ascend into the sky on a hot air balloon and see ancient Polotsk from a bird's-eye view," - the press service said.

The regional gathering is one of the events of the project "Support for Local Development in the Republic of Belarus", funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
