"Haver" will sweep Vitebsk region: weather for the weekend of December 7-8

This weekend, according to the forecast of the Republican Hydrometeorological Center, Vitebsk region will experience difficult weather conditions. A powerful North Atlantic cyclone, "Haver," is attacking our country.

The December "Haver" will be much calmer and milder than the one in March. It will be most active today, December 6. Wind gusts in our region are predicted to reach up to 12 meters per second. The air temperature will be around 0.

On Saturday, December 7, the thermometer will drop to -4. Overcast. Snow and blizzard. During the day, the wind will subside to 5-7 meters per second.

Similar weather is expected on Sunday. By this time, "Haver" will leave the territory of Belarus and move towards the Moscow region.

By noon on Monday, the sun is expected to peek out, but it will get colder – down to -8.

In connection with the expected difficult weather conditions, the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Management Department advises drivers to refrain from traveling, especially long distances. Rescuers also recommend avoiding being near trees and weakly secured structures, parking vehicles away from them, and paying attention to the integrity of overhead power lines.
