The XI National Philatelic Exhibition opened in Vitebsk

The XI National Philatelic Exhibition "Belfila-2021" has opened at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

Residents and guests of Vitebsk have the opportunity to learn about the history of Belarus and Vitebsk, the achievements of the Belarusian people in various fields, and world culture through philately. The exhibition features over 100 collections from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic.

Svetlana Yurkevich, General Director of RUE "Belpochta", noted that she is pleased to bring the exhibition to ancient Vitebsk, to its historical place - the town hall. "Philately shows the history of our country. I hope everyone will have positive impressions after visiting the exhibition," she said.

Visitors to the exhibition may be interested in the collections of famous Belarusian philatelists who have received numerous awards at international and national philatelic exhibitions. For the opening of the exhibition, the Belarusian postal service has prepared a wide range of postal products. This includes the thematic project "XI National Philatelic Exhibition "Belfila-2021", consisting of an art-marked envelope and a special commemorative postmark, as well as the art-marked envelope "XXX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

Vladimir Penin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, thanked the exhibition organizers for coming to the regional center - this is a significant event for Vitebsk. Residents and guests of the city will find many new and interesting things here, and will discover the country's history through stamps, he emphasized.

The colorful postal issue "Holidays and Rituals of Belarusians" (four stamps, a first-day cover, a special postmark, and art cards) will also delight the public. The postal products showcase the most vivid and beloved holidays - Kolyady, Easter, Kupala, and Bogach. The "Kupala" postage stamp will surprise you, as it seems to come alive when you point your gadget's camera at it with the Ar Marka Belarus application running.

Chairman of the Belarusian Philatelic Society Sergey Pilipovich noted that he was very pleased to come to Vitebsk. "We tried to bring the best from collections in Belarus and from what could be delivered from abroad during the COVID time. People of all ages are involved in philately. Some for decades, some started literally yesterday. The exhibition covers the entire spectrum of stamps," added Sergey Pilipovich.

"Belfila-2021" will be open until August 22. It was organized by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization, RUE "Belpochta" and the Belarusian Philatelic Society. National philatelic exhibitions have been held in our country since 1999. Today, Vitebsk is hosting it for the first time. -0-
