Harvesters of the Polotsk region competed in the harvest, and on August 15 they will compete in eating

August 12, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Grain growers of the Polotsk district competed in harvesting, and on August 15 they will compete in eating. A vivid illustration of the folk saying "Work until you sweat, and you'll eat with relish" will take place at the district harvest festival in the agro-town of Goryany, the ideological work department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee told a BELTA correspondent. The bright festival "Glory to the hands that smell of bread," dedicated to the end of the harvesting campaign and rural workers, will bring together more than 350 participants, including about 60 front-rankers of the harvest from all farms. Numerous congratulations will be delivered in their honor, and the best creative groups will perform for them. A presentation of bread products specially prepared by the best masters of the district will also serve to glorify the hard work of grain growers: intricate pastries, straw dolls, and colorful compositions made of golden ears of corn. However, the heroes of the occasion will have to demonstrate their prowess once again on this day: a competition for speed eating of pancakes, dumplings, chebureki, and pizza awaits them. Only one winner will be determined in each nomination. The organizers of the festival are the Polotsk District Executive Committee, the Polotsk Grain Products Plant, its agricultural branch "Goryany-Agro," agricultural enterprises of the district, and the Polotsk regional organization of the "Belaya Rus" public association. -0-
