Farms in the Vitebsk region will replenish their fleet of machinery with five hundred harvesters by the start of the grain harvest

July 5, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA/. Farms in the Vitebsk region plan to replenish their fleet with five hundred new KZS-1218 grain harvesters by the start of the harvesting campaign, the deputy chairman of the regional executive committee's agriculture and food committee, Boris Efremov, told a BELTA correspondent.

A total of 2.1 thousand grain harvesters will operate in the region's fields, including over 60% of harvesters (mainly high-performance KZS-10K and KZS-1218) purchased by farms in the last three years. Thus, the average regional seasonal load per harvester during the harvesting of grain crops allows farms to complete the harvest within optimal deadlines.

The readiness of the main fleet of equipment, which will be primarily involved in harvesting the new crop, is over 90%, and all agricultural enterprises have begun to take grain harvesters out of storage, carrying out technological adjustment and maintenance of the machines. Some farms have already taken harvesters to the fields to harvest early cereal grass seeds, and in the second decade of July, it is planned to start harvesting winter rapeseed. A total of about Br10 billion from the regional budget has been allocated for the preparation of equipment for the harvesting campaign.

The region also plans to commission 26 modern high-performance grain drying complexes by the start of the harvest season. Thus, a total of about 700 such complexes will be involved in the harvesting work. Currently, farms are working on preparing dryers to receive the new crop. By order of the regional executive committee, more than 200 enterprises and organizations of the region will provide patronage assistance to farmers in the repair and technological maintenance of grain drying facilities.-0-
