June 25, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Farms in the Vitebsk region plan to replenish their machinery fleet with three hundred new grain harvesters by the start of the harvesting campaign, of which 200 units will be equipped with high-traction tires. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Sergey Dogel, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee. Of the equipment planned for acquisition, 100 KS-1218 harvesters from Gomselmash, equipped with rapeseed harvesting attachments, have already arrived in the region. In total, 2,000 grain harvesting machines will operate in the fields of the region, with about a thousand of them being new equipment purchased by the region in recent years, of which about 80% are already prepared for work. Also, 13 modern high-performance grain drying complexes are planned to be commissioned by the start of the harvesting campaign. Thus, a total of over 400 such complexes will be involved in the harvesting work, of which 60 were built in 2006-2009.
