Farms in the Vitebsk region will receive about 400 units of new equipment by the time of fodder harvesting, the deputy chairman of the committee for agriculture and food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Sergey Dogel, told a BELTA correspondent. 100 "KG-6 Polesie" fodder harvesters from Gomselmash Production Association and 100 mowers, including 60 wide-cut ones, have already been delivered to farms. In the near future, the same number of rakes and special trailers for tractors will appear at the machine yards of agricultural enterprises, the operation of which will reduce fodder losses during their delivery. The issue of purchasing 56 imported fodder harvesters for large farms and livestock complexes in the region is being resolved using foreign credit lines. According to the tender conditions, their power will be at least 500 hp, which is due to the specific features of the region's fields, and the cost of one such machine will be about 250 thousand euros. It is planned that the harvesters should arrive in the region in early June. In total, about Br500 billion will be allocated from various sources of funding for the purchase of new domestically produced equipment for agricultural enterprises in the Vitebsk region, Sergey Dogel added. -0-
