Farms in the Vitebsk region have begun the mass harvesting of grain and leguminous crops

July 22, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotchetov - BELTA/. The mass harvesting of grain and leguminous crops has begun in the Vitebsk region, the Agriculture and Food Committee of the regional executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent.

As of July 22, grain and leguminous crops have been harvested on approximately 20.5 thousand hectares, which is almost 5% of the areas to be harvested. Over the past day, about 2% of the areas have been harvested, with about 1.5 thousand harvesters working in the fields. In the coming days, farms will reach a daily harvesting rate of 5%, which will allow the harvesting campaign to be completed within the optimal timeframe of 20-25 working days.

In general, about 65 thousand tons of grain have been threshed in the region, with an average yield of 31.7 centners per hectare. The harvesting campaign has been most actively developed in the Chashniksky district, where grain has been harvested on almost 15% of the areas, as well as in the Gluboksky (10.2%) and Beshenkovichsky (10%) districts. The Chashniksky district leads in threshing, where almost 8 thousand tons of new crop grain have already been obtained, including over 1 thousand tons delivered to grain processing plants against the state order. Farms in the Gluboksky (7.8 thousand tons of grain threshed) and Orshansky (7.1 thousand tons) districts also show high results. The Beshenkovichsky district leads in yield, with this indicator being 38 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed has been harvested on an area of about 6.4 thousand hectares, which is more than 36% of the plan, with over 8.3 thousand tons threshed at an average yield of 13 centners per hectare. Flax has been pulled on 1.8 thousand hectares, which is about 10% of the plan.

Preparatory work for sowing winter crops continues in the region. Thus, glyphosate has been applied to an area of over 41 thousand tons, or 20.5% of the target. Over 19 thousand hectares have been plowed for sowing winter rapeseed, or more than 38% of the plan.-0-
