Farms in the Vitebsk region have fulfilled 44% of the state order for grain

August 4, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. Farms in the Vitebsk region have supplied 67 thousand tons of grain under the state order, which is about 44% of the target, Alina Mironovich, head of the department for processing industry, procurement and product quality of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee, told BELTA correspondent. In total, agricultural organizations need to supply about 155 thousand tons of grain under the state order this year, including 125 thousand tons for grain processing plants. As of August 4, the state order for wheat has been fulfilled by 45% (about 22.5 thousand tons), and almost 20 thousand tons of rye have been supplied, or about 33% of the target. This year, due to weather conditions, the grain turned out to be smaller and did not gain weight in the ear, so farms are forced to carry out additional grain processing before sending the harvest to reception points to meet the standards, Alina Mironovich noted. At the same time, grain from the fields arrives with a moisture content of 13-14%, so it almost does not require additional drying. The state order for malting barley has been fulfilled by about 25% (2.1 thousand tons have been procured), and about 55% of the target of 21.5 thousand tons has been supplied for alcohol production. The work is most actively organized in the Beshenkovichi district, where the state order has been fulfilled by about 80%, including almost 50% for wheat, as well as in the Orsha and Verkhnedvinsk districts, which have fulfilled the state order by half. As of July 4, about 278.6 thousand hectares, or 62% of the grain acreage, have been mowed in the region. More than 630 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops have been threshed, with an average yield of 22.6 centners per hectare. About 160 thousand tons of the new harvest grain have been delivered to procurement points. -0-
