Farms in the Vitebsk region have completed the preparation of equipment for spring field work
March 11, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Farms in the Vitebsk region have completed the preparation of agricultural machinery for spring field work, the deputy chairman of the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee, Boris Efremov, told a BELTA correspondent.
A total of over Br27 billion was allocated for the repair of equipment and other preparatory work, including about 48% of the funds from the regional budget and another 43% of investments from the own funds of agricultural enterprises. OJSC "Vitebsk Motor Repair Plant" repaired about 1.5 thousand tractor engines and about 100 gearboxes. Dealer centers of the Minsk Tractor Works carried out maintenance on 400 tractors that had reached their service life, with a complete replacement of oils, technical adjustments, and checks of electrical units and hydraulic systems.
A total of about 8,000 units of equipment will be involved in this year's sowing campaign. In order to carry out the sowing campaign within the optimal agro-technical terms, farms have been supplemented with machine operators - this will allow for the most efficient use of energy-intensive equipment.
Mobile repair teams are planned to be created in each farm of the region for the period of field work. Issues are also being addressed to increase such units at dealer centers of agricultural machinery manufacturers in order to improve the efficiency of troubleshooting equipment under warranty.
In the Vitebsk region, it is planned to sow spring grain and leguminous crops on an area of about 257 thousand hectares, 20 thousand hectares are allocated for flax, spring rapeseed will occupy 13.1 thousand hectares, and corn will be sown on an area of 100 thousand hectares. -0-
