Agricultural organizations' storage facilities in the Vitebsk region are ready for storing produce for the inter-seasonal period

Storage facilities of agricultural organizations in the Vitebsk region are ready for laying in products for the inter-season period, the committee for agriculture and food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. In the upcoming inter-season period, 78 storage facilities with a capacity of about 50 thousand tons will be used for laying potatoes in agricultural organizations in the Vitebsk region, including 30 standard and 48 adapted ones. For storing apples, there are three fruit storage facilities (RUE "Tolochin Cannery" with a capacity of 2.4 thousand tons, GSCHU "Luzhesnyanskaya Variety Testing Station" for 200 tons, ChSUP "Radunskoye" in the Orsha district for 500 tons). All fruit storage facilities are equipped with special refrigeration equipment with a microclimate. The readiness of the storage facilities of the region's agricultural organizations was checked by specialists of the regional agricultural committee last week. "In general, all facilities are prepared for operation in the autumn-winter period. Minor shortcomings and remarks identified during the inspection were eliminated in the usual manner," the committee noted. In addition, four more potato storage facilities are currently under construction in the region: at KFH "Varmus" for 7 thousand tons, RUE "Tolochin Cannery" for 12 thousand tons, Vitebsk Zonal Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for 2 thousand tons, and OJSC "Kushliki" for 4 thousand tons.
