The artistic director of the Dortmund Ballet showed interest in the International Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk
Tobias Ehinger has shown interest in the International Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk. The head of the Dortmund Ballet, laureate of the German Dance Award and artistic director of the "World-Class Stars" project announced his intention to get acquainted with the forum and possibly participate in it in the future at a press conference in Vitebsk, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"I learned about the festival from a German ballet magazine. The article also noted Vitebsk's and its audience's immense interest in dance. Now my personal impressions confirm this, and therefore I want to learn more about your festival of modern choreography," said Tobias Ehinger, not ruling out that he himself will become a participant in the Vitebsk forum in the future.
This evening, soloists from world-renowned theaters will perform on the stage of the Vitebsk Concert Hall: New York City Ballet, The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Bavarian State Ballet, Cuban National Ballet, Portuguese National Ballet, Madrid National Ballet. World-class performers representing a wide variety of dance styles are dancing for the residents and guests of the city. Among them are Rolando Sarabia, Venus Villá, Yone Acosta, Marise Fumero, Rubinald Pronk, and Steven McRae.
The opportunity for Vitebsk residents to see such diverse stars in one concert arose thanks to a canceled performance in Kyiv. At the same time, the choice of Vitebsk was not accidental. "When it comes to Belarus, people primarily talk about Minsk and Vitebsk, known for their vibrant dance scene and Marc Chagall," noted Tobias Ehinger.
Previously, the "Stars of World Ballet" program was shown in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Today it is presented in Vitebsk, and on April 4, residents of Minsk will be able to see it. Helsinki and Tallinn are next on the itinerary.
