The "fence" exhibition will arrive in Vitebsk at the end of March

"Заборная" экспозиция приедет в Витебск в конце марта

The opening of the art project "Zabor", an exhibition of reproductions of paintings by contemporary Belarusian artists, will take place in Vitebsk on March 29. The exhibition will be held on the fence of the Botanical Garden, as reported to BELTA by the press secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Yulia Viskub.

"Zabor" is a unique project for Belarus, which has no analogues in the country in terms of scale and content. The central idea is to integrate contemporary national art into a familiar landscape, to build a dialogue between painting and citizens. All the paintings in the project are united by the common theme of Belarus and its people. The "fence" exhibition has already been held in Minsk and Warsaw, and is now coming to Vitebsk.

This exhibition will differ from the one seen by the residents of the Belarusian and Polish capitals. First of all, in addition to the four artists who were exhibited in Minsk - Ruslan Vashkevich, Sergey Koval, Vladislav Stalmakov, and Viktor Alshevsky – art lovers will be able to see the works of Vitebsk master Alexander Dosuzhev. His works are not just an author's style - they reflect the features of what is called the Vitebsk school in art. In addition, the art project "Zabor" in Vitebsk will be dedicated not only to Belarus, but also to the city itself with its fascinating history, interesting events, and daily concerns.

The exhibition is organized by the investment company "Zubr Capital" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus and the Center for Contemporary Arts.
