The "fence" exhibition stretched for almost 120 meters in Vitebsk

"Заборная" экспозиция растянулась в Витебске почти на 120 метров

The exhibition is located on the fence of the city Botanical Garden, its total length is almost 120 m. It includes 45 panels with reproductions of paintings by Ruslan Vashkevich, Sergey Koval, Vladislav Stalmakov, Viktor Alshevsky, and Vitebsk artist Alexander Dosuzhev. Another 10 are dedicated to the authors themselves.

"When preparing the exhibition for Vitebsk, we took into account its rich cultural heritage, its special creative spirit, and tried to select works dedicated to this city, associated with it," emphasized the curator of the art project, Antonina Seryakova.

Zabor is a unique project for Belarus, which has no analogues in the country in terms of its scale and content. Its central idea is to integrate contemporary Belarusian art into a familiar landscape, to build a dialogue between painting and citizens. All the paintings in the project are united by a common theme - Belarus and its people.

The "fence" exhibition has already been held in Minsk and Warsaw. It will be in Vitebsk for two months, and on May 24 it will open in Gomel, where a local artist will join the main group of artists. In the following months, the project will also be presented in other regions of Belarus.

The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus by the investment company "Zubr Capital". As noted in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent, its General Director Oleg Khusaeonov said that, given the success of the project, the possibility of holding an exhibition in two foreign cities is currently being worked out jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. "Perhaps the project presentation will be timed to coincide with the Days of Belarusian Culture. However, specific cities have not yet been determined," noted Oleg Khusaeonov, not ruling out the possibility of continuing this project in the future and organizing other equally bright creative projects by "Zubr Capital".
