"Zaborski Fest" will be the "highlight" of the agro-ecotourism season in the Vitebsk region

"Заборскі фэст" станет "гвоздем" агроэкотуристического сезона на Витебщине

The renowned rural tourism festival in the Rossony district, first held in 2005 and gradually losing its prominence, has now been included in the plan of republican-scale events.

Furthermore, "Zaborski Fest" will become one of the main events of the agro-ecotourism season in the Vitebsk region. The plan of events for this year has been compiled and approved at the reporting and election meeting of the public council for the development of agro-ecotourism in the region.

Another key event can be considered the IV gathering of agro-ecotourism estates in the region, which is a unique calling card of our region – nothing similar is held anywhere else. It is scheduled for September 6-7 at the "Slavyanochka" estate in the urban settlement of Borovukha-1 (Polotsk district).

The nearest event in the plans is a training seminar for agro-ecotourism entities (March 31). Events are also expected to be held within the framework of the international project "Bella Kuzina" and the project "Small Rivers – Big Problems: Working Together to Protect and Future of Small Rivers in the Disna River Basin," the NGO "Rest in the Village," cooperation and exchange of experience with partners from Lithuania, Latvia, and Russia.

The tradition of selecting the best agro-ecotourism estate will be continued (by the way, at the beginning of the year, 449 of them were already registered in the Vitebsk region).

The summer season will be the busiest: the "Flax Academy" will be held in the Braslav district, the folk festival "Kupalle," a week-long practical seminar "Summer of Crafts" – in Miory, the "Festival of Art and Crafts 'Vialiki Poŭsviž'" – in Lepel, and others. But in the autumn, the estates will also delight with events, for example, Alla Khoren invites guests to her place in Rossony in October – for the "Gifts of the Forest" festival.

Also, following the results of the meeting, Viktor Yeroshov will continue to chair the public council. In addition, minor adjustments were made to the composition to strengthen the representation of the districts most active in rural tourism.

– Even summarizing the results and acknowledging the work in the past year as satisfactory, we note a lack of initiative and disunity among agro-ecotourism entities, – said Viktor Yeroshov. – We still need to work on cooperation. I hope the gathering of estates and other events will contribute to this.
