The law on publishing and printing activities, which is being developed by the Ministry of Information, will make Belarusian publishing houses and printing companies competitive. This opinion was expressed today at a meeting of the collegium of the department of ideological work of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by the Minister of Information of Belarus Oleg Proleskovsky, BELTA correspondent reports. The normative document will regulate the processes of publishing and printing activities. Similar documents exist in Russia and Ukraine. The need to create such a document is due to the fact that due to certain economic conditions, Belarusian printing production has lost in competitive struggle. Oleg Proleskovsky announced that in the near future the system of printing enterprises will undergo restructuring. In particular, it is planned to merge the Y. Kolas Poligrafkombinat and the Minsk Color Printing Factory. It is not excluded that communal printing enterprises will undergo restructuring. The technical equipment of the remaining ones will meet modern requirements. -0-
