According to Laima Vaikule, charisma, composure, and style are the keys to success in the competition.
July 11, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The chairperson of the jury of the pop song performers contest "Vitebsk-2009", Laima Vaikule, revealed the main criteria for evaluating contestants to journalists at the "Star Hour" today, BELTA correspondent reports from the press conference of stars at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".
In her opinion, in addition to vocal abilities, charisma, a desire to dedicate one's life to music, and the ability to cope with nervousness are necessary. All current contestants have voices, as the jury became convinced during the presentation concert. Many have professional, even conservatory education, however, not all managed to cope with nervousness, Laima Vaikule stated. "An artist needs a core, it is important to see that they have a future, that they want to engage in music," she emphasized.
The artist noted that there are few girls in the contest this year - only four. "The audience will see few outfits," she joked. Meanwhile, the stylish singer and jury chairperson always pays considerable attention to an artist's appearance. In her opinion, the "Vitebsk" pop song performers contest lacks quality work from stylists, makeup artists, and choreographers with the contestants. -0-
