Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Andrei Kuntsevich met with the asset of the Senno district during the unified information day

Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Andrei Kuntsevich met with the asset of the Senno district of the Vitebsk region during a unified information day.

As Andrei Kuntsevich noted, communication in this format is primarily an open, live contact with people, when they can not only hear up-to-date information about the development of the country and their region firsthand, but also ask questions of interest. "It is this approach that is a feature of unified information days. This is a very important feedback channel for authorities at both the republican and local levels. We actively use it," he said.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration explained his choice of meeting place: "When choosing a team, I primarily wanted to communicate with representatives of the social sphere, which, in fact, defines the face of a small region, is the backbone of local authorities and higher-level leaders."

Andrei Kuntsevich also noted that the Senno district was included in the list of territories with a tense labor market situation for 2020, which included 29 regions of the country. In 2019, 53 regions were included in such a list, and according to data as of December 1, 2019, the situation improved in each of them. "As we heard today, the negative trends are not critical, the district leadership sees opportunities to rectify the situation," he added. "The main thing now is to organize work at the proper level." The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration noted that much has already been done in this direction, as well as positive progress observed in the district. More than 20% of the local budget is formed by private business representatives. This is a promising area that, along with the service sector and small-scale production, can provide significant growth in the future.

As reported by the Sennensky District Executive Committee, 60 people were employed in the district in 2019. The plans for the current year are at least 70. There are prerequisites for this. Thus, in the first half of the year, a Russian investor intends to launch the first phase of the new enterprise "Eurobelbusiness" for the production of hard cheeses with a capacity of 118 tons per month on the leased premises of the former milk processing plant. The cost of the line is over $1 million. The entire volume of production will be export-oriented. A trial batch is expected to be released in February. The implementation of the investment project has created about 30 jobs. In the future, the investor intends to expand production, and the number of new jobs will accordingly increase.

At the Bogushevsky Distillery (a structural unit of the Vitebsk Distillery), the production of windshield washer fluid will be established in the first half of the year. Equipment for this project has been purchased and installed. Commissioning work is underway.

Among other significant investment projects for the district this year, the District Executive Committee named the construction of a retail facility by OOO "Santa Retail" in Senno, the construction of a 1.6 MW solar power plant by ZAO "REAGVitebsk", and the commencement of engineering services by OOO "Verified" (the enterprise was established on unused facilities in Bogushevsk acquired in 2018, its services will be export-oriented).

In total, in 2019, almost $574 thousand of foreign investments were attracted to the economy of the Sennensky district, including $45.5 thousand on a net basis. Eight new enterprises were opened.

During his visit to the district, Andrey Kuntsevich also met with the heads of the local trade union organization, and familiarized himself with the work of the editorial office of the district newspaper and a number of social facilities.
