Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Sergei Khomenko held a personal reception of citizens in Vitebsk
An individual entrepreneur from the Vitebsk region, who is engaged in the production of apple cider vinegar, asked for assistance in including this type of activity in the list of those that individual entrepreneurs are entitled to carry out.
– Apple cider vinegar is a healthy food product that few people produce in Belarus, – said the applicant. – I would like to include my type of activity in the list of permitted ones. I like what I do, I feel that I am benefiting people.
Sergey Khomenko instructed to clarify the stage of the document on entrepreneurial activity and to write a petition to support this appeal.
– Every person passionate about their work is an integral part of our state. And judging by the appeal, this is a necessary type of activity, which means that this issue should be considered within the framework of legislation, – noted Sergey Khomenko.
Another applicant is a citizen of Ukraine. He has been living in Vitebsk permanently for two years. According to him, he has been participating in the charitable project "Help the Parish" for about three years, providing assistance in the construction of churches in Belarus and to low-income families and refugees. In a personal meeting, the man asked for assistance in obtaining Belarusian citizenship.
Olga Korolyova, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk, explained that according to the law, to obtain Belarusian citizenship, a person must reside in the republic permanently for five years. However, there are exceptional cases, for example, for individuals who identify themselves as Belarusians, if there are outstanding merits to our country or if there is a petition from an organization.
Summing up the citizens' reception, Sergey Khomenko noted that the main goal of the receptions is to help people as quickly as possible with the problems they have addressed. It is gratifying that in the Vitebsk region, people in public office are also ready to respond promptly to all citizens' requests.
– The strictest discipline must be observed, and all decisions and instructions of the executive authorities and officials must be strictly followed. When working in the regions, including during citizens' receptions, this is under the control of the members of the Council of the Republic, – Sergey Khomenko concluded.
