Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko familiarized himself with Vitebsk's festival infrastructure and visited the regional maternity hospital

The long-awaited hour has arrived. The capital of "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" has spun into the captivating rhythm of festival bustle. It feels as if a well-tuned clockwork mechanism has simply and precisely begun to count down the chronicle of joyful days filled with numerous events. At a press conference, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko spoke about what awaits guests and participants of the 28th international cultural forum and the role "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" plays in the country's life.

— This year is full of bright events for our country. The II European Games in Minsk have just concluded, and the competitions, by the way, were broadcast in 190 countries worldwide, as was the ethno-festival "Kupalye" in Alexandria. And now, this creative sports and cultural spirit has moved to Vitebsk. First and foremost, we have strived to create maximum convenience for foreign guests here. Visa-free entry into the country for future spectators is organized through all border crossing points, where it is sufficient to present a ticket to one of the "Slavianski Bazaar" events. Foreigners can stay in our country for a sufficient period to not only attend concerts but also to get to know Belarus better. Thanks to this, we expect an additional approximately 5,000 foreign guests.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the festival becomes better and more popular every year. New approaches, new formats, and evolving content are being implemented. The idea of involving practically all audience segments, from children to elderly people, in the festival program is now actively being realized. The celebration should be a holiday for everyone. For the first time in Vitebsk, there will be an ice show and many other novelties that will undoubtedly be highly appreciated. The first concerts, which have already sold out, are proof of this. Before the official opening of "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," tickets for many concerts were already unavailable. A total of about 70,000 tickets have been sold.

During his visit to festive Vitebsk, Igor Petrishenko visited a number of sites and generally assessed the city's festival atmosphere. He inspected the improvement of festival streets, walked through the trade rows, andbecame acquainted with the works of artisans in the "city of masters", talked with students of the music college, visited the "alley of stars" and observed rehearsals on the stage of the Summer Amphitheater. A purely business visit was to the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Maternity Hospital on Chernyakhovsky Avenue.

Exactly eleven years ago, this medical institution was opened by the Head of State Alexander Lukashenko. Over these years, more than 24 thousand babies have been born here – practically the average district of the Vitebsk region. Igor Petrishenko spoke with the medical staff and mothers, inquired about the health of the babies, inspected the technical base and the conditions created for the comfortable stay of patients in the institution, the work of local doctors and medical staff. He also got acquainted in detail with the current informatization system, paying special attention to the optimization of the structure carried out in the region and the absence of interdepartmental duplication. That is, the centralization of the entire system of pregnancy management and childbirth assistance in the Vitebsk region allows the regional maternity hospital to have operational data on the condition of each expectant mother, regardless of her place of residence. The issue of tactics and place of delivery is decided only taking into account the presence of pathologies in the mother or her child. Directly from a remote village, a woman can be sent in advance either to this regional maternity hospital, which has everything necessary to prevent unforeseen situations, or, if indicated, to the Republican Center "Mother and Child".

The quality of medical care provided in the regional maternity hospital has long been appreciated by residents of neighboring countries – about 500 little Russians saw the light here for the first time. And now, several women from neighboring Russia are nursing their babies in the wards – Igor Petrishenko wished them to come to Belarus with such a God-pleasing purpose more than once.

— The stability of the demographic situation in the country is the number one task, — emphasized Igor Petrishenko. — Initially, the maternity hospital set a high bar, uses advanced methods, and is being re-equipped. It is good that highly qualified medical care for women in labor is available even in the most remote regions of the oblast – almost 260 kilometers from Vitebsk. And today I am convinced: the
The maternity hospital's capabilities allow for admitting a significantly larger number of patients – let the medical professionals themselves set an example and actively expand their families.
