Engage in Nordic walking, play volleyball, or warm up on exercise equipment: a sports and play area has opened in Sharkovshchina
A well-equipped place for recreation and sports is now among the attractions of the agro-town, which claims the status of a "village of the future."
– We managed to implement our plan thanks to the project of the "New Eurasia" foundation, implemented jointly with the SYMPA research center, – says Maya Yakimovich, chairperson of the Germanovichi rural council. – Partners included the social information institution "Development of Sharkovshchyna District," the private construction and trade unitary enterprise "StroyGradExpo," and agricultural enterprises "Knyazh" and "Elnia-Agro."
According to Maya Evgenievna, local residents actively participated in the improvement of the playground area. Farms provided equipment for garbage removal and site leveling. They built a volleyball court, installed outdoor exercise equipment, the "Krepysh" children's complex, purchased Nordic walking equipment for seniors, and equipped a gazebo and a sandbox.
To mark the opening of the sports and playground, local residents organized the event "Beauty. Health. Sport." Spectators actively supported the competing teams.
They played pioneerball, a sand marathon, and a tug-of-war competition. At the end, a bicycle race was also held. The "Sunny Ray" team won the competition, but the losers promise to take revenge. The meeting place will be the same sports and playground, equipped on a previously vacant plot of land.
