Заседание правления областного отделения Белорусского фонда мира прошло под девизом «Беларусь – страна мира и созидания»
Summarizing the work done in 2022, Chairperson of the Board Tatyana Tumanova noted the success and popularity of several projects initiated by Vitebsk residents and embraced by the whole of Belarus. Among them is the "School of Peace". 12 schools in the Vitebsk region already have this status, and three more are preparing to receive it in 2023. The project has reached the national level under the name "Network of Schools of Peace in the Republic of Belarus". 91 schools in the country already hold this high status.

The "People's Diplomacy" project, involving young peacekeepers and somewhat postponed due to epidemiological reasons, is gaining new momentum. Soon, schoolchildren from Belarus will participate in creating creative works about Russian sister cities, and their peers from Russia will do the same about Belarusian cities.

Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies and a distinguished peacekeeper of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, highlighted the extensive financial support for projects of the regional branch aimed at improving memorial sites and monuments dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War.
– The world is restless today, – noted the head of the deputy corps. – Many understand the importance of supporting peace by all means. New people are joining the foundation, collecting funds, humanitarian aid for those in need, participating in competitions and other events. The projects implemented by the Peace Foundation are very important. It is one of the oldest, yet most dynamically developing public organizations in the region.
Many veterans and activists of the peace movement were awarded medals "For Peace, Friendship and Good", other awards, and the titles of "Honorary Veteran of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Peace Foundation".
Over 700 works were submitted by schoolchildren of the Vitebsk region for the regional stage of the creative competition "Happiness to Live in a Peaceful Country", organized by the Belarusian Peace Foundation. Nine young men and women became winners and prize-winners of the republican tour in the nominations "Painting", "Poetry", "Prose". Their works were included in the trilogy "Country of Peace".

Talented young people were awarded in a solemn ceremony and were given a tour of the V. Lenin Regional Library. But first, adult activists – People's Artist of Belarus Svetlana Okrujnaya, chief physician of the Vitebsk City Polyclinic Stanislav Titovich, military commissar of the region Ruslan Shkodin, Tatiana Tumanova – publicly read poems and excerpts from prose works by the young contestants. This is how the continuity of generations is formed, and peace is the main condition for a happy life for people of all ages at all times.
