The large-panel housing construction plant of Vitebsk DSK is completing the first stage of technical re-equipment

The large-panel housing construction plant of the Vitebsk Housing Construction Combine (large-panel plant of Vitebsk HCS) is completing the first phase of the enterprise modernization, the chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Belous told a BELTA correspondent. The technical re-equipment of the enterprise is carried out under a republican program and provides for an increase in production capacity by 2.5 times to 250 thousand sq.m. The first phase of modernization, which is carried out without stopping production, involves the installation of special Italian equipment by July 1 of the current year. By the end of the year, the large-panel plant intends to reach its planned capacity. Investments in the upgrade will amount to about Br200 billion. In accordance with the republican program, the modernization of another large-panel plant, a branch of OJSC "Construction and Installation Trust No. 16" (Novopolotsk), is continuing in the region. By the end of 2011, it is planned to launch a modern Finnish line. The enterprise's capacity will increase from 36 thousand sq.m to 100 thousand sq.m. The total investment in equipment modernization is 9.5 million euros. According to Vladimir Belous, the renovation of large-panel plants will allow for the construction of energy-efficient and economical housing for citizens in need of improved housing conditions. The increase in the enterprises' capacity will make it possible to eliminate queues for apartments as quickly as possible. Currently, queues for improved housing conditions exist in Vitebsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Orsha, Glubokoye, and Lepel in the Vitebsk region. In other districts, there are no such queues: housing is built as housing construction cooperatives are formed, or there are vacant apartments in new buildings. This year, 830 thousand sq.m of housing is to be built in the region. For 4 months of the current year, 161.29 thousand sq.m have been commissioned. -0-
