A cranberry processing plant is planned to be built in the Miory district

October 1, Minsk /Andrei Asfura - BELTA/. A cranberry processing plant is planned to be built in the Miory district. This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by the Chairman of the Miory District Executive Committee, Igor Kuznetsov. A rich cranberry harvest is collected annually in the Miory district. For example, in 2011, 150 tons of the "rejuvenating" berry were harvested and sold in the district. However, as the chairman noted, there is information that in the post-war years, up to 400 tons of cranberries were collected in this area. Therefore, Igor Kuznetsov estimates its annual reserves at 200-400 tons. Currently, cranberries are purchased from the population and sold, meaning the profitability of the activity is not high. This is related to the desire to process the berry within the district and sell it in the form of preserves, jam, and confiture. "We would like to process as much of it as possible," the chairman of the district executive committee clarified. At the first stage, it is planned to organize a cranberry freezing workshop, which will require an investment of 300 thousand euros. Subsequently, it will be possible to start processing the berry, which will require an additional 1 million euros. Investor proposals will be more than welcome here. -0-
