A compound feed production plant has opened in the Vitebsk region

The grand opening of the feed production plant at the "MazolovoGaz" agricultural enterprise of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" took place.

The region's gas workers began their involvement in agriculture over ten years ago. They were transferred the economic complex of the "Losvido" department, which belonged to the Gorodok poultry farm, and part of the lands of the agricultural college of the veterinary academy.

Today, SHP "MazolovoGaz" specializes in the production of milk and grain. As a result of the reorganization, the arable land area has increased almost tenfold and amounts to 3.9 thousand hectares.

The cattle population has grown to 2.5 thousand heads, and milk yields have reached 7245 kg. Crop production is also developing: grain yield last year was 40.9 cwt/ha, and grain harvest was about 4.9 thousand tons. The animals kept at "MazolovoGaz" require 4 thousand tons of feed per year.

— Previously, we purchased them from grain processing plants, — said Konstantin Pochepko, Deputy General Director of Vitebskoblgaz. — After the construction of the plant, the costs will be around 2 billion rubles (all amounts are indicated in pre-denomination prices – editor's note), which is 30-35% less than purchasing products externally.

The construction of the feed production plant cost 25.2 billion. The technology for their preparation is simple: grain is loaded into the receiving pit via horizontal conveyors, after which it is fed to a scalper (coarse impurity cleaner) using screw and bucket elevator systems and distributed into hoppers. Dosing scales and hammer mills help grind the grain to the desired size, then it is mixed with other components. The equipment also allows for the preparation of

granulated products.

— Thanks to advanced technologies, the plant will provide the farm with compound feeds for various groups of livestock with specified quality characteristics, — Konstantin Anatolyevich clarified. — In addition, the economic efficiency of obtaining marketable livestock products will increase while simultaneously reducing their cost.

— The management of the regional gas company is focused on implementing advanced technologies, — said Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, who took part in the solemn launch ceremony of production. — It serves as an example for others, showing the directions in which to develop.
