Torch lighting and athletes' run. Vitebsk celebrated the Day of the Coat of Arms and Flag

Зажжение факела и забег спортсменов. В Витебске отметили День герба и флага
The Day of the State Emblem and the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus was celebrated in the Vitebsk region.

State symbols are the history and future of the country, the embodiment of the idea of national unity, the most important attributes of the sovereignty and independence of the Fatherland.

As emphasized by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in his congratulatory message to his compatriots, these symbols are filled not only with valor and heroism, but are also the calling card of Belarus's peace-loving policy, whose authority is indisputably recognized on the international stage.

By tradition, the main event of the holiday in the region was a race in the center of Vitebsk. Renowned athletes, our countrymen, started from Victory Square, where they lit a torch from the Eternal Flame at the memorial complex in honor of the Soviet soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region.

Holding the torch and the flag of Belarus, a group of runners headed along Moskovsky Prospekt towards the "Order of Victory" memorial sign located near VSU named after P. Masherov.

Passers-by greeted them with approving shouts, and motorists honked their horns.

A rally was held at the stele, attended by veterans and students, representatives of labor collectives, public associations, and government bodies, including **Chairman of the City Council of Deputies Vladimir Belevich**. Vladimir Iosifovich noted that Belarusians have faced serious trials throughout their history, but they have endured each of them with dignity because they were united. The flag and the emblem are a reminder of the unity of our ancestors and a guide for future generations.

Solemn events also took place in districts, organizations and enterprises, and military units. For example, in the 7th Separate Special Militia Brigade, a general military evening roll call was held in commemoration of the holiday. During it, commanders once again reminded the soldiers of the significance of state attributes and the history of their origin.
