The former metalheads' club building was sold in Vitebsk

The former building of the metalworkers' club at 2 Engels Street on the bank of the Western Dvina River in Vitebsk was sold at auction today.

The initial price was Br108. Three buyers competed for the property in the historical center of the city. As a result, on the 52nd bid, the building was sold for Br131,505. The former metalworkers' club with a total area of 2458.8 sq.m has the status of a historical and cultural value. It has two floors with three extensions, a mezzanine, and two basements. The new owner will have to preserve the exterior appearance of the constructivist building built in 1932.

According to the founder of the construction firm, Alexander Drabo, he and his partner intend to open a cultural and entertainment center in the former metalworkers' club. This will be an investment project for businessmen. "There is a lot of work to be done, the building is in poor condition and requires major repairs. I think it will take at least three years to put the former metalworkers' club in order," noted Alexander Drabo.

The entrepreneur added that he plans to create a room in the reconstructed building dedicated to the history of the constructivist building and the events that took place here over the years.
