The health resorts of the Vitebsk region are gaining increasing popularity among foreigners

Citizens from near and far abroad purchased over 16.2 thousand vouchers to health resorts of the Vitebsk region in 8 months of the current year – almost 2.3 thousand more vouchers than in the same period last year. Revenue from services sold to foreigners increased by 14.3% and amounted to Br9.8 million (taking into account the denomination). Foreign citizens are attracted by picturesque nature, a strong medical base, comfortable conditions, and quality nutrition. In total, from January to August of this year, sanatorium-resort and health improvement organizations of the Vitebsk region sold 51.1 thousand vouchers.

The free sale of vouchers (without attracting funds from the republican budget and state social security) is increasing annually. In January-August, 41.2 thousand people underwent sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement in the health resorts of the Vitebsk region at the expense of legal entities and individuals. Owners of health resorts invest significant funds in the development of the material and technical base, improvement of services, and pay more attention to increasing the quality and expanding the list of additional paid services. In September, the Plissa sanatorium-resort complex began operating in the Gluboksky district (bed capacity – 300 beds). The profile of the sanatorium-resort complex includes treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, gynecological diseases, and diseases of the male reproductive organs. The Vitebsk region has 11 sanatorium-resort organizations, 4 student health resorts, and 79 health improvement organizations.
