The Women's Council of the Senno District held a charity event for lonely people on Epiphany

On the Epiphany holiday, the Senno district organization of the NGO "Belarusian Union of Women" held a charity event "Share the Warmth of Soul and Heart" for lonely elderly people. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the ideological work department of the Senno District Executive Committee. The focus of the women's attention was 40 elderly residents of the district who are in the round-the-clock care unit for lonely elderly people "Khodtsy" and in the "Moshkany" nursing hospital. Souvenirs, sweets, new clothes, and many other pleasant trifles, which the organization's activists collected and bought for them, became unexpected gifts for them. Representatives of the church accompanying the delegation added a spiritual note to the holiday. They consecrated Epiphany water for the elderly and gave them their blessings. The district executive committee noted that such a charity event is held in the district regularly. However, it is usually aimed at providing assistance to children from social shelters or large, single-parent, and low-income families. Meanwhile, lonely elderly people are also a vulnerable category of the population in need of care. In total, there are 66 primary organizations of the NGO "Belarusian Union of Women" operating in the Senno district, which include about 1.3 thousand members. -0-
