Residential buildings and overpasses remain flooded in five districts of the Vitebsk region

Residential buildings, farmsteads, and low-water road bridges remain flooded in five districts of the Vitebsk region, Marina Fando, spokesperson for the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, told a BELTA correspondent. In the Liozno, Beshenkovichi, and Polotsk districts, 4 low-water bridges and a section of the Babinovichi-Stepanenki road (Liozno district) were flooded. In the Gorodok district, 6 residents from two flooded houses moved in with relatives. In the Verkhnedvinsk district, despite the flooding of 7 houses, no one had to be relocated - the houses were built taking into account the peculiarities of the river flooding. Thus, as of the evening of April 12, 9 residential buildings, 12 farmsteads, 10 outbuildings, 4 low-water road bridges, and a section of the highway remained flooded in the region. The total flooded area was 1.5 hectares. Employees of the district departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conduct daily monitoring of the flood situation. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a decrease in water levels is observed in the flooded areas in the Liozno and Gorodok districts. A slight rise in water is recorded in the Beshenkovichi and Verkhnedvinsk districts - about 10 cm.
