A resident of Horadok attempted to strangle his beloved in a hospital

Житель Городка пытался задушить в больнице свою возлюбленную

Initially, the 24-year-old slightly intoxicated man unsuccessfully tried to reconcile with his 37-year-old girlfriend. For this purpose, he came to the surgical department of the district hospital where she was undergoing treatment. The woman, who is raising four children aged 3 to 17, refused to resume their romantic relationship, which had lasted for several years.

Then, like in a classic tragedy, the suitor began to strangle his beloved, and when she lost consciousness, he considered his revenge accomplished. But the patient woke up and heard her admirer discussing the incident over the phone with her friend. He said he had killed her and was now standing by the body waiting for the police.

Taking advantage of the confusion the would-be murderer fell into upon seeing his suddenly resurrected victim, the mother of many children ran into the corridor to the medical post. He found her there and threatened her, saying he would kill both her and himself anyway.

Maxim Zinovik, Deputy Prosecutor of Horodok District, says:

– The victim did not immediately report to the police but endured several more assaults from her lover, saddened by the separation, both at the hospital and at home. The latter did not give up. After being kicked out the door once again, the man tried to get into the apartment through the balcony. He climbed to the second floor using a downspout, but the room door was locked.

The girlfriend did not appreciate his courageous act and again refused to let him in. When the uninvited guest started making a scene, she called the police. In the presence of a police officer, the young man first climbed onto the windowsill and then, despite persuasion, decided to take his own life. He jumped down.

As a result, he suffered only minor bruises, and his ex-girlfriend filed a statement regarding the death threats she had received. For the incident in the hospital room, the accused faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to two years.

While recounting the details of her relationship to investigators, the victim admitted that this was not the first instance of threats. And her friend's suicide attempt was also not the first. About six months ago, her suitor had already tried to cut his wrists due to conflicts with his beloved.

The prosecutor's office of the Horadok district does not rule out that the defendant in the “love” case may have to be examined by medics before the trial to assess the adequacy of his behavior.
