August 11, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A resident of Horadok stole three bicycles in a day, the BELTA correspondent was informed by the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

An employee of one of the local private enterprises, who had no previous problems with the law, could not resist the tempting opportunity to appropriate "ownerless" bicycles. The first victims, who lost the most popular mode of transport in rural areas, were a worker of PMK and an unemployed resident of Horadok. The man was careless enough to temporarily leave his bicycle, without taking care of its safety, near the bus station building, and the woman - near the store.

The daytime success inspired the offender to "work" at night as well: he stole the third bicycle from the unlocked basement of a pensioner. The total cost of the stolen items was about Br1 million.

A criminal case has been initiated against the 35-year-old resident of Horadok for theft under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to four years of imprisonment.-0-
