August 13, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A large ammunition depot has been discovered in the Vitebsk region, investigator-criminalist of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office Alexander Kazakov told a BELTA correspondent.
A resident of the village of Zaronovo, who decided to dig a pond in his own garden, discovered several aerial bombs during excavation work. The man reported the findings to law enforcement agencies. However, the "treasure" that had been stored on his property for a long time turned out to be much larger. Sappers from military unit No. 5524, who arrived for the ammunition, found 167 AO-1 aerial bombs, 37 artillery shells of 37 mm caliber, and two F-1 grenades from the Great Patriotic War during the site inspection.
