Residents of a Ryazan village did not want to let the Belarusian firefighters go home

August 20, Dubrovensky District / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The gratitude of residents of Ryazan villages saved from fire is the highest award for Belarusian firefighters. This point of view was expressed today to journalists by the First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Valentin Karpitsky at a ceremony for rescuers in the Dubrovensky District on the border with the Russian Federation, BELTA correspondent reports. Valentin Karpitsky emphasized that Belarusian firefighters demonstrated their skill and professionalism and successfully completed the task set before them to save people and material assets. The consolidated detachment received gratitude and gifts from the Governor of the Ryazan Region and the Russian government; however, the most important award is the gratitude of the rescued people. "Our rescuers worked almost around the clock, and their rest was patrolling 200 km of territory, where they prevented the ignition of 170 fire outbreaks," added the First Deputy Minister. Words of appreciation to their Belarusian colleagues were also expressed on behalf of Russian rescuers by Vladimir Vaitulevich, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for the Smolensk Region of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, who accompanied them. He also told about a rather curious incident when residents of one of the Ryazan villages, which was being protected from fire by Belarusian firefighters, did not want to let their defenders go home and asked them to stay as long as possible. -0-
