Residents have begun to take a more active stance on issues of their region's development - Vitaly Vovk

Local residents have begun to take a more active life stance on issues related to the development of their region. This opinion was expressed today to journalists by the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Vitaly Vovk, during a personal reception of citizens in Tolochin.

"People watch the news, read newspapers, are interested in the life of their region, especially in matters of improvement. It is good that local residents have begun to take a more active life stance and are ready to participate in public life themselves," said Vitaly Vovk. In total, about a dozen local residents applied today on various issues. For example, a pensioner from Tolochin came to the reception to draw attention, in addition to personal matters, to the city's lighting schedule, traffic organization on some streets, and the improvement of streets and territories. One of the applicants said that in the 1990s she was denied "Housing" checks. Now the woman has applied to find out the legality of this decision. Vitaly Vovk instructed to take copies of documents from her and sort out the issue.

A technical error made by UP "Design Institute "Vitebskgiprozem" during land management work to establish the boundaries of a land plot led to a collapse in the relationship between two neighbors and became the reason for an appeal from one of the parties. Vitaly Vovk suggested that the applicant first try to find a compromise with the neighbor. At the same time, the authorities will look for a solution to the current situation.

"Now land management cases from the Soviet era are becoming relevant, as in many cases the owners have changed, people are starting to put their documents in order, and in many cases problems and friction with neighbors begin. They need to be deeply understood, an attempt should be made to negotiate and find solutions together with citizens," noted Vitaly Vovk.

The President's Aide emphasized the importance of meetings with the population: "For the authorities, personal receptions of citizens allow them to get a real picture of what is happening on the ground and, most importantly, feedback, so that our people live better and are proud of their land."-
