The jury has not yet been able to choose who will represent Belarus at the Slavianski Bazaar.
To determine the representative of Belarus at the international pop song contest "Vitebsk", which will be held during the XXII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", a repeat audition will be organized, reports a BELTA correspondent.
Today, the second stage of the qualifying round took place in Minsk. It was attended by 10 performers from Minsk, Borisov, Molodechno, Grodno, Vitebsk, Mogilev, and others. The judging panel chose two candidates: Alexander Solovyov, an artist of the National Academic Orchestra of Symphony and Pop Music of the Republic of Belarus, and Alexander Kovalev, a vocal teacher at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. In a week, a repeat audition of the contestants will be held. During this time, the participants must choose compositions from their repertoire that will best showcase their vocal abilities.
The jury included Anatoly Yarmolenko, artistic director of the Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus ensemble "Syabry", People's Artist of Belarus; Eduard Zaritsky, People's Artist of Belarus; Vasily Rainchik, artistic director of the Youth Pop Theater, People's Artist of Belarus; and composer Oleg Eliseenkov. The chairman of the expert group is Vladimir Karachevsky, First Deputy Minister of Culture.
Tomorrow, the judging panel will announce the names of the participants in the children's music competition. Two young artists will represent Belarus at the song forum.
The XXII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" is scheduled to be held from July 11 to 17.
