Housing and communal services, medical services and wage arrears - Presidential Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich held a reception of citizens in Vitebsk

Residents of Vitebsk addressed housing and utility issues, salary concerns, and services for people with disabilities to the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Livnevich, during a reception of citizens and a direct line at the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny District of the regional center.

The first to address the issue was a mother of many children. She built an apartment six years ago, but then questions arose regarding the quality of the work performed – the house was damp. The Capital Construction Directorate promised to eliminate the shortcomings but did not help. Then, specialists visited the resident, checked the heating system, ventilation, and air exhaust. The instruments showed that everything was in order, but the applicant did not agree. Anatoly Livnevich instructed the responsible services to take measurements again, resolve the problem, and settle the disputes.

Several residents of house No. 30 on Moskovsky Avenue in Vitebsk came with a collective complaint. The five-story building was constructed in 1963, and no major repairs have been done to the house since then. The applicants stated that the pipes are leaking, there is dampness in the apartments, the windows are outdated, and the steps at the entrance to the building are crumbling. The city authorities have been instructed to consider the possibility of including the house in major repairs. The issue is under control.

A guardian mother of a 40-year-old disabled person from Vitebsk came to the reception. She complained that she now has to take her child to the dentist, although such services were previously provided at home. It is difficult to take her disabled daughter to a medical facility. Considering that such rules are provided for by law, the President's Aide promised to clarify with the relevant ministries how the situation could be resolved.

Three employees of a private organization in the city also approached Anatoly Livnevich. They have not been paid their earned money since March. In addition, because the company does not settle with its specialists, they cannot resign and start working elsewhere. The regional department of the State Labor Inspectorate will investigate the problem. During the telephone line, a worker from a sewing enterprise in the regional center also raised the issue of wage arrears.

Speaking with journalists, Anatoly Linevich noted that, as before, most of the questions concerned the housing and communal services sector. "But here, people should not be indifferent to maintaining minimal order around their homes; they need to organize themselves to solve common problems," he noted.

The President's Aide also said that the General Director of OJSC "Dolomit," who applied today for assistance in modernizing the enterprise, will not be left without a response. The government will join the discussion of the proposal.

More than 20 people applied for appointments and direct lines with the President's Aide. Issues raised included the removal of abandoned vehicles from courtyards, employment, connecting electric heating to homes, roads, and the improvement of populated areas.
