The housing and communal services of the Vitebsk region are actively preparing for the heating season
Housing and communal services enterprises of the region have carried out a number of measures to adequately prepare for the upcoming autumn-winter period. This was announced by Dmitry Gerasimov, First Deputy Head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Regional Executive Committee.
– Boiler and heating network equipment has been tested, and preventive maintenance on equipment is underway. As of August 20, 471 heat sources (87.9%) and 97 central heating points (89.0%) have been prepared, – said Dmitry Ivanovich.
Repair of heating networks is being carried out according to plan; 68 km of pipes (64.1% of the annual target) have been replaced, primarily with pre-insulated ones.
In the housing stock, 4033 heating points have been repaired (81.0%), roofs have been repaired (117 thousand sq. m – 79.6%), heating systems of 5450 houses (87.0%), and panel joints with a total length of 32 thousand linear meters (58.0%).
– For maintaining the street and road network in winter, the region's housing and communal services enterprises have 497 technically sound snow-removal and specialized vehicles, – noted Dmitry Gerasimov. – However, there are currently 12.7 thousand tons of sand-salt mixture (42% of the required volume).
Water supply and wastewater disposal facilities are also being prepared for winter: over 29 km of water supply networks (48.9%) and 2.4 km of sewage networks (45.7%) have been relaid, 122 artesian wells (73.1%), 170 fire hydrants (66.1%), and 40 water towers (59.7%) have been repaired.
Housing and communal services enterprises continue to implement energy-saving equipment: 27 frequency-controlled electric drives, 872 automatic lighting control systems for common areas of residential buildings, and 1977 energy-efficient lighting devices have been installed; 121 pumping units and 21 obsolete heat exchangers have been replaced with more efficient ones.
Communal enterprises of the region are creating the necessary reserves of local fuel. 300.9 thousand cubic meters (66.9% of the plan) of firewood and wood chips and 6 thousand tons (85.7%) of peat briquettes have already been procured.
Boiler houses and mini-CHP plants using local fuels are equipped with platforms and canopies (covered warehouses) for drying and storing solid fuels, and additional storage facilities are being equipped.
In September, it is planned to commission 6 boilers at three boiler houses in the Vitebsk region, operating on local fuels with mechanized loading. Work on optimizing fuel and electricity consumption is being completed at nine facilities.
In buildings that have undergone thermal rehabilitation, the automatic heating control programs have been reconfigured.
– Our dispatch services and emergency crews have been supplemented with equipment and personnel. And there are always two mobile boiler houses on standby, equipped with autonomous power sources, and five mobile power generators, – said Dmitry Gerasimov.
