The 2017 UNESCO Clubs Winter University will bring together activists from all over Belarus in Vitebsk

The Republican Public Association "Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs" will hold the Winter University of UNESCO Clubs-2017 in Vitebsk on December 23-24, which will be attended by delegations from over 30 UNESCO clubs, as well as candidate clubs operating in all regions, as reported by the organizers from the department of pioneer work and children's movements of the State Educational Institution "Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth".

The event is timed to coincide with the Year of Science in Belarus, as well as the 70th anniversary of the World Movement of UNESCO Clubs and the Sustainable Development Goals. Vitebsk is expected to gather about 150 people who will participate in educational events. Members of UNESCO clubs will learn how to promote the activities of the UN and UNESCO, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Topics such as ecology, conflict resolution, children's rights, the study of world and national cultural-historical and natural heritage, and a healthy lifestyle will be covered. The participants will master the profession of a journalist and improve their leadership qualities. The Winter University also serves as a concluding event for 2017: delegations from UNESCO clubs will come with reports on their work. During master classes, club representatives will share their experience in implementing projects.

The program includes a cultural block, which features a grand opening (it will take place on December 23 at 11:00 AM in the assembly hall of Gymnasium No. 1), a concert, excursions, thematic platforms, a creative evening "If there is friendship - it is forever!", and a historical and educational team game exploring the sights of Vitebsk.

The University is organized with the support of the "Youth and UNESCO Clubs" committee in partnership with the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO, the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and in cooperation with the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth.
