The orchestra's star under Finberg's direction lit up at "Slavianski Bazaar"

Звезда оркестра под управлением Финберга зажглась на \"Славянском базаре\"

The star of the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus, conducted by Mikhail Finberg, was solemnly opened today on the Square of Laureates near the main venue of "Slavyansky Bazaar".

The plaque of the new laureate of the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "Through Art - to Peace and Understanding" was unveiled immediately after the colorful festive procession of the forum participants and the raising of the festival flag. On the forum's anniversary, the National Academic Concert Orchestra, led by People's Artist of Belarus Mikhail Finberg, received its "star" status on the Square of Laureates. Over many years, this ensemble has become a unique brand of "Slavyansky Bazaar". It plays a huge role in preserving Belarusian musical heritage and popularizing world classics. The list of creative achievements is vast. But the most important and valuable has always been one thing - the magnificence of live sound, the feeling that a miracle is happening here and now.

"It has happened! The road to the star took a little over 25 years. The entire orchestra, conducted by Mikhail Finberg, did everything to make the festival in Vitebsk acquire the sound of a worldwide, international event. And they succeeded," noted the Minister of Culture of Belarus, Boris Svetlov, at the solemn opening ceremony of the star. He added that other merits of the orchestra were also recognized with this award. In particular, the ensemble spent a lot of time in southern Belarus, which suffered the negative consequences of the Chernobyl NPP accident. The orchestra traveled to these contaminated regions, bringing Belarusian music and rich culture to the local population. The Mayor of Vitebsk, Viktor Nikolaikin, emphasized that the National Academic Concert Orchestra, conducted by the maestro, has long been like family to the city. "We know how much Mikhail Finberg has worked for the development of "Slavyansky Bazaar" since its very first days. He is not just a participant, but also an organizer, a good friend," added Viktor Nikolaikin. He noted that, partly thanks to the orchestra conducted by Finberg, the festival continues to develop. Evidence of this is that the former alley

the laureates of this year has already turned into a square. Otherwise, it would soon be impossible to accommodate all the stars in this firmament called "Through Art – for Peace and Mutual Understanding".
