Today, over 200 hammer throwers from different countries will begin their competition for the prizes of Vadim Devyatovsky
For two days – November 22 and 23 – athletes from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia will test their strength at the Atlant stadium in Novopolotsk. The traditional International Hammer Throw Tournament for the prizes of Vadim Devyatovsky will bring together participants of various ages and accolades. Both the rising generation (the youngest participants born in 2003) and adult athletes will have the opportunity to test themselves. The "battlefield" will feature prizewinners and champions of European and World championships, as well as newcomers who have all their victories ahead of them.
The competition can rightfully be called "star-studded," not only because of Vadim Devyatovsky, a luminary of domestic athletics since winning silver at the Beijing Olympics. Another famous Belarusian hammer thrower, two-time Olympic medalist Ivan Tikhon, will also arrive in Neftegrad, bringing his trainees and performing in the capacity of a coach.
