"Stars of World Ballet" return to Vitebsk as part of the "Vladimir Spivakov Invites" festival
For the first time, this unique dance project is included in the program of the III International Festival "Vladimir Spivakov Invites", the musical events of which involved Minsk, Gomel, and Mogilev. "This year the festival is special, it is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the maestro," said Maxim Berin, the project producer, at a press conference held regarding the upcoming gala evening "Stars of World Ballet". "The festival is a success, spectators strive to attend it, and therefore we suggested to the maestro that other Belarusian cities should also be involved in this aesthetic luxury. Thus, the project "Stars of World Ballet" is integrated into the festival's scope and will be presented in Vitebsk as part of its program".
The gala performance will take place in the concert hall
"Vitebsk" on February 26, and all fans of Terpsichore will enjoy a magnificent performance, in which each act is exclusive.According to Tobias Ehinger, the artistic director of the project, he is glad to visit Vitebsk for the second time with a program that presents the pioneers of dance in the second half of the 20th century, leading masters of the stage.
"
Working on the organization of the evening, we took into account what might be interesting for Belarus, and also decided to focus on the choreographic styles of schools in Great Britain and Germany. Leading dancers of the Royal Ballet of London and Birmingham will present the choreography of Kenneth MacMillan and Peter Wright. Soloists of the best dance companies from Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, the company "Forsythe" will open the world of outstanding contemporary choreographers William Forsythe, Roland Petit, Mauro Bigonzetti in dance. And if in the first part of the gala concert the artists will present the classical ballet school, world-famous productions, then in the second act the focus will be on contemporary choreography", - said Tobias Ehinger. But two numbers in the Vitebsk program are truly symbolic. Here we will perform a number from the ballet
"Colors of Kazimir" staged by M. Bigonzetti. The fragment with which the artists of the Berlin National Ballet Marian Walter and Rene Krenstetter will take the stage will be from a ballet created based on the novel by Marcel Proust "In Search of Lost Time" by the famous Roland Petit. The choreographer was friends with Marc Chagall. Petit admitted that his choreography often relied on Chagall's paintings, depended on their color, and the dynamics of lines. To gather world ballet stars in one evening, to think through a tour program that is unlikely to ever be repeated, is, according to M. Berin, the filigree work of T. Ehinger,
"handmade item", which is always not cheap. Given the special attitude towards the famous artistic Vitebsk, the organizers announced a promotion from February 1 to 7 — the price of tickets for "Stars of World Ballet" is reduced by 15 percent.Nataliya Krupitsa, "Vitbichi"
