"Sounds of Belarusian Painting" were heard at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk"

«Звуки белорусской живописи» зазвучали на «Славянском базаре в Витебске»
The exhibition "Sounds of Belarusian Painting" opened a large exhibition project within the framework of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival.

The arts forum always widely presents visual art from different countries. This year, vernissages of artists, designers, folk craft masters, and jewelers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Latvia are planned. The first in this series was an exhibition revealing the peculiarities of the host country of the festival. "Sounds of Belarusian Painting" is a song about Belarus, its beauty, hospitality, and spirituality. "Painting is musical. The sounds of the world, like all surrounding reality, are absorbed by the artist, rethought, and a melody is born that can make colors 'sound'. This melody is filled with fleeting impressions, but its foundation is the spiritual world of the creator," reads the exhibition's explanation.

The exhibition includes over 30 works from the collection of the "ArtKhaos" gallery-salon. As its director Lilia Lukashenko explained, this exhibition provides an opportunity for numerous festival guests to get acquainted with contemporary Belarusian art, to more fully appreciate the cultural world of our country, its heritage, and traditions. Among the authors are artists from all regions of the republic, including two Vitebsk painters – Oleg Skovorodko and Mikhail Levkovich.

The paintings have adorned the hall of the Vitebsk Concert Hall, one of the main festival venues.

– More than 10 events will be held at the Vitebsk Concert Hall. We want the paintings presented here to complement the impressions of the arts festival and Belarus, – said the forum director Gleb Lapitsky.
