People's deputies visited memorable places of Ushachy district and laid flowers at the "Proryv" memorial complex. Ushachy district is a partisan land, a heroic land bathed in blood, the homeland of a whole galaxy of writers and poets, whose numerous works are dedicated to the feat of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. And the district strives to do everything possible to preserve this heritage for future generations.

For the first time within the framework of the song and music festival, a regional orchestra competition was held, which gathered almost 400 professional musicians from all over the region. And on the main city square, a district review-competition for the best homestead took place.

The Republican specialized exhibition-fair "Vitebsk region - for a healthy lifestyle" will be held on May 18-19 in the regional center. The exhibition will feature health and rehabilitation services, healthy natural products, and offers in the field of sports and tourism.

More than 200 facilities are being renovated in Polotsk for the Day of Belarusian Written Language, which will be held here on September 3. The readiness of the ancient city for the celebration was assessed on the eve by members of the national organizing committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vasily Zharko. They visited the Art Gallery, Polotsk State University, and the Museum of Belarusian Book Printing. Key aspects of the preparation for the large-scale celebration were discussed, the program of which is still under development. The native city of the first printer Francysk Skaryna is becoming the venue for the Day of Belarusian Written Language for the third time. This year it is particularly symbolic: Polotsk will celebrate the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing, and the city itself will celebrate its 1155th birthday.

The exhibition features over a hundred exhibitors from all over the country – from small family businesses to major industrial giants. Potential investors represent France, Slovenia, Latvia and Lithuania, China, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, and more than ten regions of Russia. The investment opportunities of the region will be discussed by business circles during the thematic sessions. One of the items on the forum's agenda was the opening of a new enterprise for the production of trade equipment. The plant operates within the framework of the "Vitebsk" free economic zone. Polish and Ukrainian investors chose the northern region of Belarus as a place for investment. This year, businessmen at the forum will pay special attention to the green economy. After all, these days the city on the Dvina is also hosting the 14th Republican Ecological Forum.
